February 12th was our first meeting of the year and
we had a great turn out of thirty members.
Thanks to everyone that brought refreshments and
thanks to those that donated door prizes.
We went around the room asking members their
thoughts on how the bees were doing and what the
goals of the new and seasoned beekeepers were - this
leads to help planning of the program for the New
Year ahead.
Wade Stiltner gave an update on new medications soon
to be released for sale to beekeepers and discussed
what we as beekeepers should be looking for in our
hives.
After our business meeting we started with a year in
the life of a beekeeper (movie).
The Kanawha Valley Beekeepers Association thanks
everyone that has helped with our educational
programs and the help with funding to purchase
materials.
Thanks to all the members that attended AG day this
is very helpful in letting our representatives know
how important honey bees and beekeepers are to
agriculture.
Hope to see everyone at the West Virginia
Beekeepers' Association Spring meeting, April
9th - Princeton 4-H Grounds Princeton WV. (more
